WHAT

Decibel health is a national provider of in-home dialysis and kidney care. In direct opposition to the giants of dialysis, who widely require patients to report to sterile, mass-produced treatment centers for their daily care, Decibel brings doctor-supervised dialysis directly to the place where people are most comfortable: their homes.

For such a radical departure from the norm, we needed to communicate an equally radical message, one that strikes the delicate balance between hope and reality. Kidney disease is hard. And there is hope. Decibel’s patients embody both, and so does the Decibel brand.

We dove deep into the world of Reddit and Quora and spoke to numerous dialysis patients to uncover the personal stories of the real people living with kidney disease. The quotes you see here represent the unfiltered voices of those faced with ongoing dialysis treatment. No sugar-coating. No glossing over. No fake enthusiasm. This is real life, afterall.

Decibel print campaigns are shocking at first, drawing the reader into the stories of patients and their life situations. We chose this approach because dialysis itself is shocking. It's a complete cleaning and replacement of all of your blood. Let’s not pretend it's all smiles and flowers and running through a field hand in hand with your partner. That can come later, after Decibel patients have received the right care.
